So here’s something a part of me honestly doubted I would ever be able to say; I FINISHED MY FIRST DRAFT!!!!
The first draft of Spiralling is complete! It’s basically a pile of word-vomit that is going to need so much work and so many more drafts, but I don’t care. I have never finished a draft of anything before – something with a beginning, a middle and an end, all done and ready to be edited and re-drafted and made into something that is actually good.
I am really proud of myself, and am giving myself a massive high-five!
And I am so excited for what comes next. I can’t wait to turn this into the book I know in my heart that it can and will be, one day. It will take so much work, a lot of hours, so much editing that I will want to throw myself and the laptop out the window, but right now, it’s impossible for me to be anything but thrilled.
Now I can take the skeleton and make Ronnie’s story into the one she is worthy of.
So, as the “easy” (hahahaha, easy, I crack myself up! xD … because only non-writers would ever think it was easy) part is over, the even harder work can begin. Blood, sweat and tears, and then a little more blood and a lot more tears. It’s going to continue to be an adventure of ups and downs, I have no doubt.
Another great thing is that, in addition to editing and re-drafting Spiralling, I now also get to start outlining Parker, so hopefully it’ll be ready in time for me to start drafting it during this year’s NaNoWriMo.
So many things to look forward to; so excited!!
And so many feels that I literally cannot think of what else to put in this blog post. So until next time! Wish me luck with the next part of the writer’s journey, and good luck to everyone else in pursuing their passions.
Lots of love,
Rain S.
That’s amazing. Congratulations. 😘
