Hey all, I just wanted to write this quick blog to apologize for the irregular updates and activity on my blog these past few weeks. Things have been kind of rough life-wise, and to top it off I hurt my ankle tripping on the stairs a week ago (thanks, Rain) and it still hurts like a bitch. Now, sure, it’s still extremely possible to write with a painful ankle, it’s just another thing that drains me of motivation and encourages that little dumb-ass voice in my head telling me not to open up a document and get work done.
So, I am very sorry for the lack of regular content, especially to my Patrons, whom I really feel like I’m letting down. Thankfully at this point most of my supporters are either my friends or related to me, so I don’t think they hold it against me, but that’s not the point; I made a commitment and I should be able to stick to it despite whatever else is going on in my life.
Anyway, today’s post is super short, because I’m just going to put it out into the world that until Camp NaNoWriMo in July, I will not be working on either of my WIPs. I will spend the next month-and-a-half trying to write some short stories exclusively for the purpose of submitting them to places. I feel it’s necessary for me to do this right now for a lot of reasons, none of which I’ll get into. I know this means it will take even longer for me to reach my self-publishing goal with the first novel, but you know what, adapt or die, and I am not prepared to lie down and give up just yet.
So, short stories it is. I’m in Norway right now, and if you’ve been reading this blog for a while you’ll remember that I stink at getting any work done whatsoever when I’m in Norway, but I will make an effort most days to get down to the local library where the vibe is pretty good and I usually get a lot of shit done (it’s where I am right now!).
In other news, let me just take one whole second to gush about this absolutely extremely cool woman I’ve been on two dates with and she keeps getting cooler and more interesting with every words that comes out of her mouth, and it’s been a while since I was this excited about someone. So if any of you have any witchy tendencies, throw some good energy my way, would you? I’m really hoping this goes well!
And with that, I will try to get started on some of those short stories. Wish me luck, and I wish all of you the best of luck as well, no matter what you’re working on. And remember that Eurovision is happening tonight! I won’t get to watch it live because I have to go to this thing, but I’m sure as shit gonna listen to the songs before hand, decide who to vote for, and then watch the re-run tomorrow. NO SPOILERS PLEASE!
